PERFORMANCE AND ACTIVITIES OF OFFICE OF THE EXECUTIVE ENGINEER, MECHANICAL DIVISION, PWD (R&B), AGARTALA

The Mechanical Division manned by Executive Engineer having its office at NetajiChowmuhani, PWD Complex, Agartala under the control of the Chief Engineer, PWD (R&B), Govt. of Tripura, Agartala is functioning with assignments and duties throughout Tripura State by the following 4 (Four)Mechanical Sub-Divisions headed by Sub-Divisional officer.

1.Mechanical Sub-division no – I, Capital Complex, Kunjaban, Agartala

2.Mechanical Sub-division no – II, NetajiChowmuhani PWD Complex, Agartala

3.Mechanical Sub-division no – III, NetajiChowmuhani PWD Complex, Agartala

4.Mechanical Sub-division, Kumarghat, North Tripura

The Mechanical Division, Agartala is mainly responsible and dealing with execution of works related with procurement, installation, commissioning and running& maintenance of Road and earth Construction machineries, Asphalt Drum Mix Plant, Procurement, storing and catering of Motor spirit to the Govt. vehicles (State, Central Govt., PSU), Air Conditioning machineries, plant, other cooling appliances, Lift having their latest modern, sophisticated& advance technology. The Mechanical Division is also entrusted as a prime member of committees constituted by different Govt. Department and PSU for offering expert views and recommendation in respect of Condemnation, disposal, valuation of Govt. vehicles and machineries etc. The staff position of Division office and above Sub-Division offices are shown here with separately.

There is also provision for opening of 1 (One) no. Mechanical Sub-division office at Udaipur, Gumati District in near future for which necessary sanction and notification has already been done in this regard. This Mechanical Sub-division office will look after all mechanical works bifurcating the present assignment vested with existing Sub-division offices situated at Agartala related withprocurement, installation, commissioning and running of Road Construction machineries, Asphalt Drum Mix Plant, Air Conditioning machineries, plant, other cooling appliances, Lift etc within the jurisdiction of Gumati and South Tripura District.

The detailed assignments and activities as performed by the above Mechanical Sub-division offices are elaborated herein separately .

1. The S.D.O.( Mech.), Mechanical Sub-Division No- I, Agartala

The Jurisdiction of this office is entire Districts of West Tripura, Khowai, Sipahijala, Gumati, and South Tripura. This Sub-Division office is entrusted and looks after the Govt. works related with Procurement, Installation, Commissioning, running &maintenance of Govt.Road & earth construction machineries, Asphalt Drum Mix Plants. In addition to above this office is also maintaining of m.s. fuel dispensing pump installed in the premises of this office for catering fuel to the Govt. vehicles of 107 (One hundred Seven) Departments and organizations at present of both State & Central Govt. and PSU ( Central Govt.- 4 nos, State Govt. – 98 nos, PSU – 5 nos.). Average 300 (Three hundred) nos. vehicle are to be handled per week. Approximately 37-40 KL m.s. fuel are to be catered yearly from this fuel dispensing pump. Besides above, inspection and preparation of report for condemnation of Govt. vehicles & machineries, valuation of Govt. vehicles & machineries of different Departments both Central and State Govt., PSU are to be done at regular basis. This Mechanical Sub-Division is also entrusted as a representative of the Executive Engineer or member of committees constituted by different Govt. Department and PSU for offering expert views and recommendation in respect of Condemnation, disposal, valuation of Govt. vehicles and machineries etc in a regular manner. The mileage testing (Fuel consumption/liter) of different type & model of vehicles of Govt. Department and PSU are also to be done as a regular task.

2. The S.D.O.( Mech.), Mechanical Sub-Division No- II, Agartala

The Jurisdiction of this office is entire District of West Tripura, Khowai, Sipahijala, Gumati, and South Tripura. This Sub-Division office is entrusted and looks after the Govt. works related with Procurement, Installation, Commissioning, running & maintenance of Air Conditioning machineries& Plant, Cooling appliances, Lift of different Govt. Departments and Hospitals. The office is specially entrusted with Procurement, Installation, Commissioning, running & maintenance of Air Conditioning machineries & Plant, Cooling appliances, Lift of most important Govt. buildings like Governor House, VIP Residences, IGM Hospital, Tripura University, PragnaBhavan, Circuit House, M.B.B. College, SukantaAccademy etc. The Supervision and extending of technical assistance of ongoing projects like Air Conditioning system of Govt. Museum at Ujjayanta Palace, Air Conditioning system of Auditorium of Tribal Research Institute, Lift System of Belonia Hospital and BBM College, Air Conditioning system and Lift system of New Governor House,etc are also done by this Sub-Division office. The Air Conditioning of Tripura Bhavan, Pretoria Street, Kolkata and Lift system of Tripura Bhavan, Salt Lake, Kolkata are also looked after by this office.

3. The S.D.O.( Mech.), Mechanical Sub-Division No- III, Agartala

The Jurisdiction of this office is entire Agartala Sub-Division. This Sub-Division office is entrusted and looks after the Govt. works related with Procurement, Installation, Commissioning, running & maintenance of Air Conditioning machineries & Plant, Cooling appliances, Lift of different Govt. Departments and Hospitals. The office is specially entrusted with Procurement, Installation, Commissioning, running & maintenance of Air Conditioning machineries & Plant, Cooling appliances, Lifts of most important and high profile Govt. buildings like as New Secretariat Building, Agartala Bench of Guwahati High Court, New Assembly Building, GBP hospital&Agartala Govt. Medical College, State Guest House, Regional Cancer Center. The Supervision and extending of technical assistance of ongoing projects like Lift systems of TMC &BRAM Teaching Hospital,Air conditioning system of Govt. Music College, Air conditioning system & Lift system of Aitorma Building, Air ConditioningSystem of NSRCC Stadium, Lifts of Social welfare directorate etc are also done by this Sub-Division office.

4. The S.D.O.( Mech.), Mechanical Sub-Division, Kumaghat, North Tripura

The Jurisdiction of this office is entire District of Dhalai, Unokuti and North Tripura. This Sub-Division office is entrusted and looks after the Govt. works related with Procurement, Installation, Commissioning, running & maintenance of Govt.Road & earth construction machineries, Air conditioning system and Lift system. Besides above inspection and preparation of report for condemnation of Govt. vehicles & machineries, valuation of Govt. vehicles & machineries of different Departments both Central and State Govt., PSU are to be done at regular basis.
